SUMMARY:IDTA Submodel Architect Day 2026 (Frankfurt, Germany, 09 Feb 2026)
DESCRIPTION:The IDTA Submodel Architect Day was a one-day industry event on 9 February 2026 in Frankfurt (Germany), organized by the Industrial Digital Twin Association. It focused on Asset Administration Shell (AAS) submodel templates – standard data structures for Digital Twins – bringing together submodel designers, software developers and digital-twin experts.\nAccording to IDTA, the event “will bring together industry experts to discuss cutting-edge advancements, innovative design strategies, and practical applications of Submodel templates to enhance data management”. The audience included submodel architects, tool developers and stakeholders from automotive, aerospace, manufacturing and standards bodies.\nThe program (see agenda) featured keynote talks and deep-dive workshops. Highlights included sessions on modeling strategies and industry trends, hands-on demos of the IDTA toolchain (live submodel creation), and panel discussions on challenges and use-cases. Joint working groups with initiatives like Catena-X, NAMUR, EUROMAP and OPC Foundation were also covered. Ample networking time allowed participants to form collaborations across European Digital Twin projects.\nCompSTLar partner Universidade de Coimbra (UCB, Portugal) – which is involved in AAS/Digital Twin research – participated in the event (joining other international experts).\nFor more info, please visit the event website.\n
