SUMMARY:ECCM22 (Oslo, Norway, 21-25 June 2026)
DESCRIPTION:The 22nd European Conference on Composite Materials (ECCM22) took place from 21–25 June 2026 in Oslo, Norway, marking the first time the conference was hosted in the country. Organised by the Laboratory of Advanced & Sustainable Engineering Materials (ASEMlab) at the Norwegian University of Science & Technology (NTNU), ECCM is recognised as Europe’s leading event in composite materials and structures.\nThe conference brought together researchers, industry stakeholders, and academic experts from across Europe and beyond to discuss the latest advances in composite materials, with a strong focus on sustainability, digitalisation, and emerging industrial applications. Key topics included green and sustainable materials, recycling and repair technologies, advanced modelling, AI-driven engineering, process monitoring, and innovative characterisation methods.\nECCM22 featured a rich scientific programme with keynote lectures, plenary sessions, and technical presentations covering applications in aerospace, automotive, energy, maritime, infrastructure, and sports sectors. CompSTLar partners AIMEN (Spain), Collins Aerospace (Irleand), and NTNU (Norway) took part in the event, contributing to discussions and exchanges on advanced composite technologies and research developments.\nBelow the presentations delivered by the consortium, which do not include the sessions where partners were chairing:\nAIMEN\n\n« Automated manufacturing of steered fibre variable stiffness composites by dry fibre placement »\n« Localized heating of high-performance composites with short and continuous carbon reinforcements »\n“Design and Processing of High-Loaded Composite Filaments for Additive Manufacturing: From Bonded Magnets to Ceramics and Metals”\n“Process monitoring for a full-scale wing-box using hybrid Fiber Optic Sensors in a One-Shot Liquid Resin Infusion process (LRI) – FLASH-COMP “Flawless and sustainable production of composite parts through a human centred digital approach”\n« Development of advanced Carbon Fibre-based electrodes towards their integration into high-performance Structural Supercapacitors »\n«Integration of Embedded Sensor Systems for Process and Structural Health Monitoring in Smart and Sustainable Wind Turbine Blade Components»\n\nCollins Aerospace\n\n« Multidisciplinary Design Optimisation Framework for Composite Structures with Manufacturing Constraints »\n\nNTNU\n\n“A parametric diffusion-deformation study for polymers used in the hydrogen transport”\n“Reprocessability of cryogenically aged basalt fiber reinforced polyamide matrix composites used for hydrogen storage in aircrafts”\n« On the development of wood plastic composites with reclaimed raw materials employing 3D printing and injection molding »\n« On the durability of non-crimp fabric composite exposed to water bath and freeze-thaw aged »\n“Robotic Processing of Reclaimed Timber”\n« Development of Quality Control Strategies for Reclaimed Timber towards Optimized Upcycling »\n\n\nFor more info, please visit the event website ( https://www.ntnu.edu/eccm22 ).\n
