From Waste Stream to Feedstock: Advanced Recycling Technologies Driving Cross-industry Circularity
Advanced recycling and upcycling technologies are creating new opportunities for circular manufacturing by transforming waste into valuable secondary raw materials for industrial applications. This online session brings together Horizon Europe projects to showcase innovative solutions that enable industries to replace virgin feedstock, improve resource efficiency, and accelerate the transition towards more sustainable value chains.
The discussion will also explore how proven recycling and material recovery technologies can be transferred across different sectors, supporting the wider adoption of circular manufacturing practices.
Representing CompSTLar, Marc Wilms, Research Associate at Fraunhofer IPT, will present “Digital Twins & Circular Manufacturing: The New Standard for Aerospace”. The presentation will highlight how CompSTLar is integrating advanced manufacturing, digital twins, and circular approaches to improve the design, production, maintenance, and recycling of next-generation composite aerostructures, contributing to a more sustainable aerospace industry.
Agenda
Who should attend?
- Process industries dealing with material input constraints, looking to substitute virgin feedstock, improve resource efficiency, and reduce Scope 3 emissions.
- Manufacturers seeking to diversify or reformulate products by adopting technologies validated in adjacent sectors.
- Recycling companies and SMEs interested in understanding where demand for recovered materials is growing and how to position themselves as reliable suppliers of secondary raw materials.
