Circular Economy Webinar (Online, 30 July 2026)
The “Digital Twins & Circular Manufacturing: The New Standard for Aerospace” session took place on, bringing together EU-funded projects to explore how advanced recycling, upcycling, and digital technologies can contribute to more sustainable and circular industrial value chains.
Organised by the CompSTLar RECAP partner Wood2Wood Project, the online session focused on the role of digital technologies and circular approaches in transforming manufacturing processes and supporting the transition towards more sustainable industrial models.
During the session, Marc Wilms from the Fraunhofer Institute for Production Technology IPT presented the work of CompSTLar, highlighting how the project is advancing sustainable composite solutions for next-generation aerospace through the integration of advanced manufacturing, digital twins, and circular approaches across the lifecycle of composite aerostructures.
The event also provided an opportunity to exchange insights with other EU-funded initiatives and showcase how innovative technologies can help turn recycling and upcycling approaches into scalable solutions for industry.
