CompSTLar Unveils Advances in Automated Composite Manufacturing at 15th EASN Conference

MADRID, Spain – 14-17 October 2025 – The CompSTLar consortium has successfully showcased its latest breakthroughs in aerospace manufacturing at the prestigious 15th EASN International Conference. Joining over 650 industry experts from leading universities, research centers, and global aerospace enterprises, the team presented pivotal advancements in the digitization of composite material production.
The conference, held in Madrid, serves as a major hub for European aviation research, making it the ideal platform for CompSTLar to demonstrate how it is driving the digital transformation of the supply chain.
Optimizing the Future of Aerostructures
During a high-profile session on the digitalization of sustainable manufacturing, chaired by TU Delft, CompSTLar Project Coordinator, Pablo Romero Rodríguez, delivered a technical presentation on “Automated Tape Laying Process Monitoring.”
The presentation highlighted CompSTLar’s work in optimizing in-situ consolidation. This technology is critical for the production of next-generation aerostructures, offering a method to create lighter, stronger aircraft components while reducing energy consumption and manufacturing waste. By monitoring the Automated Tape Laying (ATL) process in real-time, the project aims to ensure zero-defect manufacturing, a key requirement for the future of sustainable aviation.
Strengthening Industry Collaboration
The event provided the CompSTLar team with the opportunity to engage with peers and discuss the intersection of sustainability and digitalization. The interest generated by the presentation underscores the industry’s urgent need for smart manufacturing solutions that CompSTLar is developing.
